Performance 2018

  • A total of 16,014 complaints related to the sewage network assets were recorded in the various regions of the Kingdom of Bahrain in 2018. It should be noted that 98% of these complaints were handled within one hour of the receipt of the complaint to the Control and Reporting Center in the Sanitary Engineering sector.

  • The Control and Reporting Center in the Sanitary Sector recorded 557 reports regarding the breakdown of pumping stations in 2018 and was dealt with through the implementation of operational contracts and periodic maintenance.

  • A 21,253 storm water gullies were cleaned during 2018.

  • TEQCG has successfully passed proficiency testing that’s been done among the international accredited laboratories for 16 chemical and biological tests by the end of 2018.

  • The Water Quality Control Group has maintained the International Accreditation Certificate according to ISO 17025: 2005 which is given by International Accreditation Services for the second time in a row. As a result, the accreditation has extended until 2019.

  • The Directorate has maintained a production rate of more than 95 thousand cubic meters of treated wastewater per day, which is treated with the latest technologies at Tubli wastewater treatment center, which is then transferred by distribution networks to farmers in different regions of the Kingdom.

  • All transmission and distribution networks for treated wastewater were maintained including all inspection chambers according to the planned maintenance program prepared.

  • Tertiary Treatment of 35M cubic meters of the sanitary influent using Chlorination, Ozonation and Filtration processes in 2018.

  • TWPCC received more than 115 million cubic meters of wastewaters until the end of October. Most of the incoming flow received were fully preliminary and secondary treated while a small portion were partially treated.

  • The planned preventive and corrective maintenance required for mechanical, electrical and measuring equipment were carried out in all major and minor treatment plants. Moreover, the overhauling works for the sludge dewatering and drying plant at Tubli Wastewater Treatment Center are being carried out according to the work plan.
